5 Greenhouse gas emissions in Sodankylä have decreased by 16.1% between 2007 and 2022, in line with national emission trends. Additional measures are needed to achieve climate targets and accelerate the transition.
6 Sodankylä has two wind farm areas and new ones are being planned, which will bring the total capacity to almost 80 megawatts. In addition to wind turbines, several hydroelectric power plants also produce green energy.
